Sign 12. Shakiness or Tremors: The Body’s Quake
On number twelve of our list is a physical manifestation that’s hard to ignore – shakiness or tremors. This feeling of instability within your own body, as though you’re vibrating, can be both unsettling and indicative of low blood sugar.
Glucose is the primary energy source for all body functions, including muscle contractions and nerve cell activities. When blood sugar falls below the required level, nerve cells struggle to communicate effectively, which can result in involuntary muscle movements, or in this case, tremors.
If you’re experiencing unusual shakiness, especially if it’s coupled with other symptoms in this list, it’s a strong hint that your blood sugar might be low. It’s important to keep tabs on when these tremors occur – do they tend to crop up when you’re hungry, or after strenuous exercise? If so, your blood sugar could be the culprit. (*)
